Forest landowners are eligible for cost-share assistance from U.S.D.A.  The Conservation Districts host annual “Working Group” meeting to facilitate the implementation of the Federal Environmental Quality Incentive Program.  E.Q.I.P. is a voluntary program that provides financial assistance to forestry producers who face threats to soil, water, air, and other natural resources on their land.  The Conservation Districts partner with the Natural Resources Conservation Service, which administers this program.

The EQIP “Working Group” sets local funding priorities annually for this Federal Program.  An eligible forest landowner is an individual, entity, or joint operation engaged in forest production.  To be eligible to participate in EQIP a forest landowner must have a current forest conservation plan.  Technical planning assistance is available from your local Conservation District.  Implementation must comply with NRCS Practice Standards.
